There is a saying that everything old is new again and nothing says that more than fashion trends. I am loving the comeback of sixties inspired clothing trends that graced the runways in New York this month. I was even able to pick up few retro pieces myself, which I am super excited about.
The first of my favorite picks for the season are actually not clothing but shoes, starting with my top pick for must haves this spring….white boots. No doubt inspired by the gogo boots of the sixties era, white boots are coming back in a big way. This updated and stylish twist on the white gogo boot has me catching the feels. Here are a few of my favorites:
Everybody who knows me knows I love the color combo of black and white.
I love this open toe style by Calvin Klein, a great way to carry the trend into warmer weather.
I am also loving this black and white boot from Vince Camuto, the block heel makes for more comfort and a bit more casual outfit.
If you are looking for a spike heel, the Jessica Simpson Pellina Stretch Boot in white is a great choice, and the best part of the Pellina Stretch Boots come in many other colors and styles, including one that takes me right to my second pick for must haves this season…bright colored rubber and patent leather boots.
I love the diverse colors that you can find rubber boots in this season. Not only are they a perfect way to wear a really cool pair of shoes, they keep your feet dry as we move into spring and the rainy season. The colors allow you to really be creative with your shoe game. These Jeffrey Campbell boots come in several different colors, even clear!
While I was in New York a few weeks ago, I stopped by one of my all time favorite places to shop, Alice and Olivia in SoHo. Ya girl here went full on sixties savage when I saw the AO x The Beatles collection. I have to practice what I preach….so I was duty bound to grab a few things for myself.
The great thing about these jeans is how they lengthen your legs. I recommend having them hemmed to pair with a high heel, and have the bottom just touching the floor, this will add inches to your appearance.
In keeping with my love of all things Black & White, I fell in love with these two jackets:
Keep an eye on my Instagram for these looks, in the meantime, head on over to the Alice and Olivia website to check out their whole AO x The Beatles collection. Thank you Sammy Watts at Alice and Olivia in SoHo, can’t wait to see you again!
Thought for the day….in light of the recent tragedy of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland Florida, the words all you need is love were never more fitting. My heart goes out to the victims and their families of such a senseless tragedy. As the future of this world, our generation has to do more to stop this from happening. If you see something, say something.
Thank you for reading, and as always….
KEEP SPARKLING!
XOXO,
Harleigh
